Apple nod to Mavericks with OS X.
Computing giant Apple have recently honoured big wave spot Mavericks with their latest 'Mavericks' operating system.
"We want to set a name that will carry us for at least the next ten years, and the answer was really obvious: it's those places that inspire us here in California, the place where OS X is designed and built", says Craig Federighi, software engineering leader at Apple.
In 1961, three surfers, Alex Matienzo, Jim Thompson and Dick Knottmeyer decided to test the waves off Pillar Point. Matienzo's white-haired German Shepherd named Maverick is the origin of the big wave surf spot.
Personally, we don't see why they didn't go with 'K10 Point' operating system. We think it has a nice ring to it...
The Oakley Bali Pro 2013
Well the Oakley Bali Pro is well under way and it's claimed a few scalps of top rated surfers already including Bruce Irons, Gabriel Medina and Taj Burrows. Its being held at Keramas on the east coast of Bali just a wee drive up the coast from Sanur on what is described as a surfers paradise island. If you ever get the chance to go to Bali do so, its one Hell of a surf trip and if your their when one of them southern hemi swells comes poring across the reefs you'll remember it for a long long time. The Bali Pro is sponsored by the world leader in sport eye protection, Oakley, and a full range can be found here>>
The Bali Pro is about the one surfer on everyones lips , yes you guessed it the legendary Kelly Slater. At 41 years old he is leading the Asp World tour going into the Keramas Bali pro and all eyes are focused on what this remarkable human being is going to deliver this time. Second in his first heat he still goes through to the next round of the event the firm favourite. Can anyone beat him ? Will he walk away with an unprecedented 12th World Title at the end of the season ? Whatever happens it will be a great show to watch over the coming months as to what happens and all the Fantasy surfer dudes will be frothing at the bit if he makes Keramas another victory.

Summer Wetsuit Guide
It’s finally here folks. Summer. Say it again. Summer. At last, it’s time for flip flops, bbq’s and girls with short skirts. And if we’re very lucky, we might even get some surf thrown into the mix. It’s time to shed the heavy 6/5/4′s in favour of something lighter, more flexible, and more likely to attract that pretty blonde who just admired your flawless backhand turn.
Okay, maybe we’re idealising it a little. It is Britain afterall. But, that sea is still baltic without a wettie, and it just so happens we have the finest range in all of surfdom…
We have two brand-spanking-out of this world suits we’re pretty darn stoked about for summer ’13. Ripcurl have blessed us with a super hyped up version of their flagship ‘E-Bomb Pro’, while Xcel are proud to announce the latest incarnation of their ‘Infiniti Comp’.
Let’s kick things off with the Ripcurl E-Bomb Pro. A 3/2mm spring/summer suit, the E-Bomb Pro is built entirely from Ripcurl’s brand new E4 neoprene. Reported to have 30% more stretch and 20% less weight than E3 neoprene, this really is the most technologically developed suit on the market. Constructed with E4 taped seams, the suit provides maximum stretch and durability for those sick summer sessions. Buy the E-Bomb Pro and look like a dope surfing power ranger…
If for some mad reason your not a Ripcurl fan, that’s okay because we’ve got you covered. The ‘Excel Infiniti Comp’ is another 3/2mm spring/summer suit that is sure to keep you toasty and loose. Constructed with thermoCarbon lining and 100% ultrastretch neoprene, this is a top end suit for the everyday summer surfer. The seamless front and back panels mean you get a great range of motion, while the fusion seam technology ensures no rips or tears in the weave.
Kelly win's Fiji Pro!

We’ll be consistently posting epic photo’s, hella funny video’s, and new gear that we’re pretty excited about! To kick things off let’s begin with a sick photo of Kelly during last week's Fiji Pro… No, we aren’t jealous. Not one bit. Jammy Bast#!d.
